Excited to Join in!
I just wanted to say hello. I have enjoyed looking at all your projects from the book. I am inspired and ready to go also. I think I would like to do the fingerless mitts. Is there a way to make them a bit smaller for a 5 year old with out knitting tighter with a smaller needles? I don't want the yarn to be too stiff! Thanks :) Teresa

Hi Teresa - Those mittens will be way too large for a five year old. My best idea for you is to knit from another smaller pattern but use the stitch patterns from the book (bobbles, ribs, and garter ridges). You'll get a similar look and it will hopefully fit your grand daughter.
I'm sure your LYS can help you w/ this.
Good luck
